About ACE

The Australian Classification Exchange (ACE) is a platform hosted by the Independent Hospital and Aged Care Pricing Authority (IHACPA) relating to the following classification systems:

  • ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS classification system: The International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems, Tenth Revision, Australian Modification (ICD-10-AM), Australian Classification of Health Interventions (ACHI), Australian Coding Standards (ACS)
  • AR-DRG classification system: Australian Refined Diagnosis Related Groups

ACE provides a public platform to submit classification enhancements for ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS and modifications to AR-DRGs, known as Public Submissions, for the potential incorporation in a future release of the classification.

ACE also provides the ability for users to review Coding Rules related to the current edition of the ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS classification system. Nominated jurisdictional representatives of coding committees may also use ACE to submit coding queries on how to apply the classification.
